    Hi

I have a Whirlpool single electric oven that is not heating up on the ‘fan/thermo ventilated’ setting – stays cold with no rise in temperature at all. The grill works, the fan works and the light works.

    Code details are:

    AKZ451/IX/01
    858545115703 140609012674

I’m suspecting the element which I’ve already priced up:

    481225998405 – Whirlpool & Other Fan Oven & Cooker Element Price: £37.95

(price on official whirlpool spares website is £46.99 btw!)

No 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} guarantees it is the element – but I just want to check if people agree this is most likely point of failure?

Also – I’m going to change it myself and I want to know if I’m in for any surprises when I come to do it if possible please?

The wife is making my life hell because I won’t buy her a new oven 🙂

    Thanks

    Robert

Element most likely culprit – good info HERE.

    Stay safe, power off.

    Thanks!

I’ve placed the order for the new element and will be switching off the cooker switch and the fusebox whilst I replace it.

New element arrived early this morning. Fitted it this evening – managed to poke the wires through the back even though I was being careful and had to take the cooker completely out. The old element did have an obvious break in it when checking closely.

However – it is now sorted and working! I’ve instructed the wife she can clean it now (and ran for my life). 😈

    Thanks

    Robert
