ParticipantHELP!
Called out to this machine, not spinning motor humming. Changed capacitor (2nd hand) and left machine working ok.
Had to call back next day as machine not spinning again. Same fault motor humming, capacitor had been cooked . Changed capacitor again (new this time) and left machine working.
Called back again! same fault, capacitor cooked. Replaced motor and capacitor and again left machine working.
Called back again today, same fault capacitor cooked.
What am I missing?
Anyone have any ideas

Have you checked the supply voltage?

Timer trying to reverse motor at the wrong time? Gearbox seizing? It seems that the Cap. is under strain, motor running on start windings longer than it should?

Changed cap yesterday, sat and watched machine for over three hours, worked fine!
Can’t see how it could be the timer as the live to the cap goes through the switch on the motor that is open when the motor is running.
Changed gearbox, think this could be the only cause.
Will let you know after weekend if I get a callback or not.
Thanks for your help

I make that 4 capacitors,1 motor,1 gearbox and a timer to come. 😯
Surely a new machine would cost lessSteve

One new cap, three s/hand caps, one s/hand motor and one s/hand gearbox. New timer on order.
There own motor and gearbox will be refitted with new timer. Will only charge when machine is ok and only for parts needed. -
