I’d try another pump first, if the socket is worn then the motor shaft could be slipping.
To just dribble out the motor would have to running extremely slow.
Description does sound like a blockage or slipping pump though.Brian

I’m with Brian on this 😉 the impellor may be stripped in the pump, also some of these T/L pumps have a none return valve in the outlet, have a look and see that this isn’t the prob. 🙂
MalPS there is also a spacer fitted over the motor shaft, check this.

I have had the holes in the inner tub all blocked with soap and scale. I just poked a small screwdriver through every one. It took ages, but cured the fault

The pump is 481936018249
IIRC the “top hat washer” is not available as a spare part, comes as part of the motor 😈

No wonder then that many years ago when i was contracting for Whirlpool I spent weeks trying to source that little bit of plastic that coupled the motor shaft to the pump, Even WP spares didn’t know the part number . So for a part that costs pence you have to buy the complete motor. Nuts or what?

Not wanting to contradict John, a whilpool expert after all, but there is a part number for those top hat thangs as I have obtained a few over the years, most for customers that have changed a pump and thrown it away on the old pump and once by me, learing from my mistakes. Have searched for the part number but cannot find it right now but they are out there….

If you can get that number Mark I will buy you a drink at Sibson, I have tried to get this on numerous occasions with no joy.
If you post the number I will stick it into ASTRO and see if the part can be ordered.

John
Got a couple of these things lying around.
Consequence of never throwing anything away.
Never seem to need one though 8)
But I will gladly exchange them for pints of the black stuff at Sibson 😆Steve
