Don’t usually do toploaders but a local charity has asked me to look at one.

On a wash cycle it fills up then nothing.
If I put it on drain/spin it empties and the motor kicks in so both of those are fine. Any ideas?

    Whirlpool MFG Date 2019.

Its possibly a problem with the mode shifter but if you let me have an email address then I can send you the service info.

SIlent, its like everything has stopped. My 1st thought was capacitor but it drains and spins fine on the spin cycle. Thanks for the diagram link.

From what I can find the shifter is C00509300 but nobody seems to stock it over here?

I have just sent you the service info.

The shifter has got an optical sensor on it so it may be worth double checking that it is clean, also take the shifter off and try moving the mechanism by hand to make sure it isn’t bound up.

Received thanks, its only a few minutes from my house so I’ll pop tomorrow and take it off and see what I find.

Also try the test mode – it can be little finnicky to get into at times but works quite well and is usefull for finding out what does and doesn’t respond.

Looks like I’ve found the issue.

Put it in manual test mode, fills OK when testing hot valve but nothing on cold valve, checked voltage and feed to the valve is good so now just need to track one down

This is the only one I can see, long shot but does anyone have one kicking about anywhere?

big problem with these is finding the british part no. in this case found the answer on Aswo

look up part no C00519528 I think it looks correct but getting some silly prices

Aswo list it at £76 plus vat etc but 3 to 4 weeks delivery

Yeah I’d seen that on ASWO but was hoping to find something a bit quicker as its for a special needs care home. Fortunately they have a couple of other (albeit smaller) machines.
