Can anybody help i’m at my wits end with this one, i was called for it not spinning, i replaced the clutch and drive coupling as they were worn but they are still complaining of not spinning, i checked it the other day and it washes okay but when it goes onto rinse and spin it drains the water but it is like the brake doesnt come of to release the drum for spinning. When i try the spin on its own before the wash it will spin okay. cheers JJ

These machines are designed to have a neutral drain, once they have emptied the motor should stop briefly before starting again which should then engage the shaft to start it spinning.

With the outer cabinet off and a bit of suitable wire to link out the door switch connection you should be able to see the clutch – draw a line on it then observe whether it spins or not, if it does then it may be the bearings or brake that are at fault, if it doesn’t then does it pause the motor at all? If the motor does pause and it doesn’t engage spin then it may be 481931038725 (Wheel cog kit) which isn’t engaging as it should.

P.s. If you send me an e-mail address then I can send you a copy of the direct drive manual which goes into detail about how the gearbox works for wash, drain and spin functions.
