    Whirpool TL 3LBR6132 Leaking water down column and looks like its pushing small amount of oil out from gearbox, Havent done one before, can anyone tell me what parts Im likely to need and how easy is it to change them?

    Hi Steven
    Quite a while since I done this repair.
    You will have to strip it out to see what is required, cabinet off, bolt down inside of agitator to get it off. The gearbox isn’t that hard to swap, the seals around the top of the gearbox will no doubt be the problem. Check to see is the clutch isn’t contaminated with oil etc.

    Before you get too far into the repair Makro are advertising these to all & sundry @ £299 in next weeks special offers.
    Whirlpool spares being what they are I would be tempted to take a labour charge and send them to Makro rather than have them ring me up a week later when they find out they could have bought a new one for an extra £100. 😉
