Whirlpool USA Fridge Circulation

I have recently moved into a house with a Whirlpool ART721 USA Fridge which I think is 5 years old. Recently, the ice in the ice maker decided to melt, and freeze at the bottom of the freezer. It has not replaced its icey contents. Also, in both the fridge and freezer compartments, only the bottom 3rd is cold – the tops are not cool at all. There is a soft motor sound coming from the bottom of the fridge, but no other noises have been made – it usually and regularly makes a louder motor noise. Do you have a diagnosis? Is this something I can fix? If not, any thoughts as to the cost of repair?

Hi Paul. This is a long shot – but did you find out and fix what was wrong with your fridge/freezer?

Mine has just started doing this yesterday and I would like to avoid the £85 call-out charge if I can.
