we have a Whirlpool AWG 349/4 washer/dryer. at the start of the cycle it “start”, well it makes a buzzing noise, the drum turns slightly, a little bit of water goes in and after about 15-20 seconds the error message E04 appears. we’ve changed the cycle and tried a spin only, again drum turns slightly, makes “draining noise” then error message. We’ve also had it off, powered down in an attemp to “reset” but nothing. Any advice and/or help is appreciated. Thank you.

SMEG-built machine – E04 is the wash temperature sensor error. The ntc thermistor will have either failed or be out of circuit – broken wiring is not uncommon.

Stay safe, power off if you’re fixing this yourself.
