a friend is looking to buy this product but I have no product experience. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this and is it worth the money.

I doubt very that anyone will know anything about that model as it is not available here in the UK.

A quick Google led me to this site it looks very similar to the ones here in the UK. Generally speaking the Whirlpool refrigeration products are quite robust and reliable. I would say in all fairness it would be a good buy.
