    Hi All,

Wondered if anyone could perhaps confirm my suspicion that my selector switch is faulty…

Symptoms are when selecting a washing programme, some (mainly just one), of the programmes don’t seem to be selected, in that the display will read a duration, which changes with each click of the knob, but doesn’t change on certain positions. After rotating around a few times, and going back and forwards the machine will eventually register the selected programme (display duration shows the correct time).

More often than not, when running this dodgy programme selection, the machine will stop, and I have to press start again. I read this can happen if the programme is changed, which makes sense if it was so difficult to select in the first place (it’s somehow lost connection).

So my theory is the selector switch itself is faulty, and not making a good contact on some of the positions. Is this a common fault?

I also can’t seem to find the switch on its own without buying a complete control panel (soldiered to it perhaps), so does anyone know if its possible to buy the switch component and soldier a new on to the board?

Apologies for the long winded post, any point in the right direction greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    James
