Participantand therefore the programme cycle doesn’t move on…
There must be some sort of sensor that tells the dishwasher when it is
empty of water and can switch off the drain pump. I have checked
the diaphragm valve and it is ok. Could it be the “probe feeler” or
does any one else have any other suggestions ?Is there anywhere a service manual can be downloaded/bought on line ?
Thanks in advance, Mark…

Undertray flooded, flood protection switch activated by polystyrene float. Drain undertray to reset switch, find the leak.
Power off if investigating, or click the link below for an engineer.

Checked the polystyerene float switch with a multimeter and it is OK. There is no leak and I have had the bottom off and no obviousl signs of any problem. Any other ideas ?
Thanks, Mark…

Probably pump triac on computer board gone o/c in that case. Nasty – board is £140 from memory. P/no 4812 214 78136 should you wish to order – contact spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for confirmed prices and availability.

Thanks for your help – will check it out.
As a matter of interest, what is it that detects that the dishwasher is empty and that the pump should be swithed off – is it the diaphragm switch ?
What does the “feeler probe” do ?

Diaphragm switch controls water level by air displacement, feeler probe is the NTC temperature sensor.

OK so what is it that tells the dishwasher when it is empty and the drain pump can be stopped ?

It was the drain pump triac, but I managed to replace just the component and not the whole control board.
Thanks for your help, Mark…

Penguin – you is de man 😀
just found your ‘drain the tray’ post after 4wk of fretting.
Worked first time. Thanks mate :D:D:DTurned out to be the inlet pipe to the salt pot. Jubilee clip slid down and water filling the drip tray, should some poor unfortunate have to go through this again 🙂
