Whirpool AKZ451 outer oven door smashed

We have a Whirpool AKZ451 gas cooker fitted in our home. Recently the outer glass door of the oven was smashed, apparently on opening the oven door. Can you tell me if this is a common complaint with this oven, or simply human error? What action would cause such damage? Thanks in advance.

If you have a read of this article, you’ll understand that it’s not an uncommon thing to happen and there can be any one of a number of reasons for it. In the end though it’s chalked up to “things happen”.
