KeymasterHi all..
I just happened to stumble on this site while trying to figure out a problem.
To be honest, I guess I have actually two problems… number 1 is that machine that is stopping at odd places during the middle of a cycle / programme. Always at the same places. Also more noisier for some reason.
I expect its the control program switch not working too well anymore. I’m going to attempt a replace one day soon.Number 2 is that I have no idea on how to change the filters or where they are located on the machine .. surely it must have one somewhere!?
Any tips or advise?
Thanks… TJ (tjohnson@ananzi.co.za)

ParticipantHi TJ,
The filter in your machine is in the bottom hose from the drum to the pump. Easiest access is by removing the front panel of the machine. Retaining screws are behind the bottom kick panel. If the machine reaches a spin position and has not drained, the timer unit will stick.Hope that’s some help,
Regards,

Hi Penguin45,
Thanks for the response… sounds like you know the symptoms all too well 🙂
I’ll have a go at finding the filter and giving it a clear in daylight… I’m guessing the kickboard is the strip on the front nearest the feet? I’ve just clipped it off and see only a small hole of around an inch in diameter to the right and a few screws on front main panel…
I figure I should unscrew the whole front off and then I will be able to access the filter part… why’d they make it so complex?
Thanks again… TJ

Nah, patience – the entire front drops off. Remember to release door seal and door lock and the whole thing’ll drop off with a downward wiggle.

Right… today is the day .. I’m finaly having a go at this.
I’ve removed the door .. but not door switch and partly slid the cover off …
Now the question is .. this huge rubber seal for the between the cover and drum … how do I get it off without damaging it?
Do I try get it off the drum … or cover?Cheers… TJ

From the front panel if you look closely at where the door seal attaches to the panel you should see a metal band holding it on its “spring tensioned” so find the spring thats the easiest way to get it off.

Make sure the appliance is unplugged :zap:

Thanks for that Clyde … found it and got it off nice and easy.
I took of the big black rubber hose that goes from the underside of the drum to the pump that pushes the water out… found the odd looking filter thing … amoungst loads of other stuff 😯 One sock , 4 coins , some card .. credit card perhaps and a bunch of other gunk.
No idea how a sock gets in there … but it’d been in there a long time..
Anyhow, I’ve cleared it all out and am giving the filter a good scrubbing. Is there anything else you can think of that I should check for while I got this all opened up? We had one of the kids taekwondo jackets chewed up once … no idea how that happened, but it was only that one time.
Also see the pipe running from the soap feeding tray has a bit of an ol leak … this is on the part that fits to the drum section … it has no way of tightening up as it looks like its just pushed through and meant to sit naturally on its bends … if you know what I mean 🙄
So far so good .. thanks for the help all.
Cheers… TJ

KeymasterThanks
Hi … just a quick note and BIG BIG THANK YOU for your help and advise. The cleaning of the filters defiantly solved my problems. Machine is working perfectly now and wife is well impressed … clothes spin to almost dry now, before they were very water logged…
Thanks again … hopefully I never need to use this site again … but if I do, it’s carefully bookmarked safley away…
Cheers… TJ
