Whirpool AWO 5763, poor rinsing?

After a light load daily wash 40c with intensive rinse selected there’s still soap in the final spin, seems to be the same in other rarely used programmes, rinse water probably reaches the top of the drum lip.

Machine does get a hot wash to clean it out, powder used 1 persil biological gel tab, and soft water. On the 30 minute wash we only use half a tab but it still is the same. Could be operator error and too much soap.

Hi,

Easy, modern washing machines no longer use enough water to rinse properly. People wanted those silly “A” ratings and water use has had to decrease dramatically in order to comply. The results a load now takes 2 hours to wash and the load is not rinsed properly.

It may also have a partially blocked filter, has the machine been like this since new or has it started recently? I would still think it is my first point though.

Thanks for the reply, filter is clear, hasn’t been the best at rinsing since new, just seems to be getting worse though. The last time the bearings were replaced, there wasn’t much soap residue lying on the bottom of the drum.

Hi,

Its probably getting worse because overtime the residue is slowly building up in your clothes, so appears to be rinsing worse when you watch the machine.

I fully sympathise with your problem, I have eczema and dermatitis and if my washing is not properly rinsed I’m in trouble, thats why I have a 16 year old Bosch and enough spare parts to keep it going just about forever! It does 4 rinses with water 1/3 up the door.

The only modern machines that seem to rinse well are the American top-loaders, which is only because they completley submerge the washing, as far as I know there is no modern front-loader (except commercial machines) that uses a sufficient amount of water to rinse properly anymore. Although if anyone wants to correct me feel free. 😉
