White K condenser dryer no pump

Not too familiar with these as I usually see the vented versions but this 77As 7 KG machine does not seem to be running its pump.
Easy enough to strip down so I took the pump out to test and it fired up readily with a mains feed.
As theres no other means of control I assume the timer just runs the pump intermittently and isn’t doing so on this one?

Anyone know if this is a common failing on these ?
