My White Knight 847 tumble dryer stopped mid cycle. ( 4 years old ) Have checked that it has power, check door switch , checked cut out switch at back. Motor Capacitor appears to be Ok. No power light shows when depressing start button… At a loss.. Any suggestions on what to check next……

    Hi
When you say you checked it had power, I take it you plugged a different appliance into the socket and didn’t do any LIVE testing :zap:
There is no need to do any live testing and we do not advise that to any future readers of this post.
If you are to do any further fault testing, please can you un-plug the appliance before proceeding :plug:

If you are certain that the striker is activating the door switch, the PCB is a common suspect. They suffer from dry joints, especially around the relays.

checked fuse in another appliance. All other testing has been completed with mains unplugged using Multimeter.

Door switch is definetly working ok …..one thing I don’t understand is the brush onto the drum..could this be a cause of the problem ?

No. So long as the brush runs against the band on the drum and has a wire attached, it’s fine. Go and look at the PCB.

Checked PCB and no obvious signs to indicate fault or bad joint. The only thing I haven’t checked is the motor but I would guess I would see the power light come on, if it was that. I guess there is not alot else I can do to test the pcb without replacing it.
