ParticipantHi Everyone!
I have a White Knight C44AW that was bought new but is now out of warranty. It developed a problem a couple of months ago where there was no heat produced at all. I went online to research the problem but could find no specific answer so I watched a video that showed how to access the reset button, element, and thermostat.I accessed these and tested the components for continuity with a meter. All gave a good reading. I removed the reset button to inspect it but could see no obvious fault like burning or distortion although it didn’t have a distinct click as I expected.
I refitted the reset switch and turned the dryer on. Full heat was restored and I was a happy bunny.
Recently I noticed that a load had not fully dried and when I investigated it was clear that only one of the two heater elements was operating.
My query is this: Would a failing element have caused the original problem?
I am happy to replace components but I don’t want to replace the dual element if it’s possible that another component is faulty. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

short answer no
if the safety button tripped its normally poor air flow ( kinked or blocked hose/ blocked filter)
these elements just fail this way
fairly simple fix.
unplug, take lid off
the rear has to come off so the wires from the casing to the rear plate have to be disconnected. take photos, draw diags but you musk know where to put them backthen lay machine on its face and just remove the top section of the rear
swop element ( taking note of the orientation of the element holders)
and re assemble

Thank you Dave for your quick response. I guessed that I’d end up doing that but it’s always good to have an expert opinion.
Cheers
