We have had our C44AW for about 7 years. It has always been noisy but has recently got much noisier (a rumbling noise, we’ve never had a squeaking noise).

If this might be an issue with the fan, how can I access the fan? Do I have to disassemble most of the machine to do so? I can see an exploded diagram for this machine, but don’t find it very informative and would much prefer some instructions!

A blowout diagram is often all you get.

Yes though, pretty much it’ll need to come apart.

You should be able to do it by removing the lower back panel only. There is a tiny plastic lug that secures the large plastic plate below the motor (when dryer is laid on its front). This plate turns a fraction to release, then motor and fan can be lifted out once the screws and wiring have been removed/disconnected.
