I have the above dryer and the rear drum bearing appears to be gone, its been making strange noises for a few weeks and ive finally got to looking at it today! the drum is VERY loose at the back, and there was a pile of iron filings and bits of rubber seal under the machine when I pulled it out of its hole!

ive removed a few panels and can clearly see the shaft moving around in the housing where the bearing should be!

anyhow, i cant seem to figure a clear way to get to the back of the drum AND the bearing, the heating element is in the way…. soooooooo i was wondering if anyone had a method theycould share for getting to the bearing!

    Many thanks fellas

no the entire back panel including the rear banjo and heater have to come off then you have to remove the air guide bottom left to access the motor so you remove the belt. As for the bearing assy im afraid its rivoted to the drum itself which means drilling out the rivots buts its not recomended as the metals very thin and trying to fit a bearing is rarely successful i always replace the drum assy complete

i got the assembly off in the end, although you dont need to remove the spider to remove the bearing, theres a screw through the middle to hold the bearing to the drum spider! anyhow, the hole in the drum spider is goosed, runnning it with a s*****d bearing has opened the hole right up, so i now need a new drum ETC!

anyhow, there just short of £70 from crosslee (white knight) direct, so i gave layed it on the machine is only 2 years old, and i wouldnt expect a simple bearing to destroy the drum ETC ETC. so as a gesture of goodwill, they knocked me some money off! £47 delivered.. RESULT! thanksyou crosslee! Im well happy at your super customer service 🙂
