ParticipantDoes anyone know if there is a height reduction kit for Wite Knight tumble dryers?
Not sure what the model number is, but it was bought about 3 years ago.

Hi
No kit available I`m afraid 😥 However this did come up a while ago in another thread on washing machine lid kit, the same priciples still apply 😉

There isn’t a kit available for ISE and, on ISE10, it isn’t possible to reduce the height even if the lid is removed due the construction.
In essence though all it is is a sheet of thin metal with a (usually) foam strip, much like the stick-on draught strips from DIY stores, around the edge and that’s about all they are. The only reason for those is to stop little fingers from prodding about inside and to somewhat stop any spills as well.
A lot of manufacturers don’t bother with them as they are rarely asked for. If you have one fitted to the existing machine you’d likely find that it could be “adapted” to fit a new one with a bit of cutting and drilling.

Thanks for the rapid reply Don.
I had a good look at the dryer last night and don’t think there is any way it can be reduced in height, as it the front control panel runs to the top of the machine, unlike my Hotpoint washing machine which had a seperate thick top.
As a result, I’m goin to need a new (vented) dryer that I can reduce the height of – can anyone recomend which makes have kits for new machines (as I think Hotpoint have stopped doing them now).

The only range I can find is the new Bosch rangeof dryers with the exception of the WTB76556GB. Apart from that you could resort to plan B as above, if you can find a retailer that is happy to remove some worktop lids for you 😉 .
