We need to fit a new drive belt to a White Knight tumble dryer model no CL382 WV & have been told it is virtually impossible – any advice would be welcome please?

Check the old belt first but this is normally 1547, not difficult to get hold of at all.

Thanks chris. the old belt is broken, it is the actual fitting that we have been told is difficult. Have ordered a new one but they would not give any advice as we are not “registered engineers” other than to say it needs stretching!

Ah, okay, I thought you were having trouble finding the belt. Fitting is a lot easier than many tumble driers really as the base comes off allowing you better access to pull the belt over the pulley.

It will probably be a struggle if you’ve never put one on before as they’re a pain to get on – best to make yourself an improvised tool of some sort. Washing machine suspension springs work well with a plastic cap on to protect the belt from damage.
