ParticipantOur washer has decided to stop working properly when put onto a wash, it fills up with water as normal then the programme ready light flashes. According to the handbook meeans Err 02, what is that the hand book doesnt say its the…. so replace it. there is a knocking sound coming from the behind the filter cap, but nothing there where i removed it(apart from something that resembles a tiny propellor.
It will drain the water if i put it on the approriate setting, it will also do a spin cycle, but if i put it on any of the numbered settings, the water fills up then the programe ready light blinks. the water pressure is fine, ive checked the filters and theyre fine….confused and running out of clean under wear…. Help – oh and i SO cannot afford to a pay a man £85 just to walk through the doorthanks

Hi Steve,
First off, read this about fault codes…

I think, but I’m not sure, that E2 is a drain error which is very possibly a blocked drain pump and, from your description, that would make sense.
Until you say that it drains okay on a drain and spin. 😕
There’s a bit more info on drain pumps here:

Thanks – interesting read, yet im still a little confused as to what it could be… i thought that because the water drains and the drum spins – the problem may lay with whatever makes the water hot enough – could this be the case ?

I’m afraid that there’s often only one way to find out what the problem is and that’s to dig into it and look.
It’s possible that the heater if faulty, the thermistor or the wiring to either as well as other things. As that first article points out, the error code will not give you the answer more often than not, just point toward where to start looking.
