Hi,

May need to replace my White-Westinghouse Fridge Freezer. Model RTD16VJ. Frost free.

External Dimensions

Wide 71cm 28 inches

Height 160 cm 63 inches

Depth ; 61 cm 24 inches ( without the grill ).

Freezer : W 71 cm x H 43cm x D 61 cm
Fridge : W 71 cm x H 107 cm x D 61 cm

Internal dimensions :

Freezer : W 63 cm x H 36 cm x D 50 cm

fridge : W 63 cm x H 102 cm x D 50 cm

Done a web search. Did not see White-Westinghouse fridges around in UK.

This one seems similar to mine :

Can one get these in UK

Which other fridge freezers of equivalent size are reliable and best.

Are there any around that are 71cm wide ( 28 inches ) .

Some quote in litre capacity. Not sure how they work that out.

Looking for Fridge and Freezer of same proportion. Or larger fridge section would be OK.

Must not be wider than 71cm External. Prefer this wide.

Existing one is right hinged, which we prefer.

70cm wide refrigeration is a niche area that hardly any manufavturers cover. Having a quick Google I found a Smeg which is a similar size to your WW. You may need to phone the supplier as it is showing as out of stock.

The only other decent one I can find ia a Siemens KG49NH90GB but that has a bottom mount freezer.

Refrigeration capacities these days are always quoted in litres, to convert simply divide the litres by 28.31 to arrive at cubic feet.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Smegs looks the right size. It’s bit pricey I think.

I have a Smeg hob and the ignition lighter went within a short time.

The Siemens looks pretty good. Not sure if the capacity is similar to my old one. I don’t mind if the freezer compartment is lower.

I have had a go at working out internal cu. ft. ltr on my White-Westinghouse

Freezer is 4.05 cu ft = 115 ltr

Fridge is 11.57 cu ft = 327 ltr

Total is 15.62 cu ft + 442 ltr

Hope I have got that right.

May be cheaper to go for a 60cm wide as long as the capacity works out similar to the old. Suppose it would work out very tall , if they are around. Would need a ladder lol

Hi

The Smeg will actually be a Gorenje appliance badged for Smeg. Personally
your own appliance which is a original GE which is a true american appliance and a reliable one.Repair it.

I have really been pleased with my White-Westinghouse.

Not sure how much it will be to repair ? Any ideas ?

Also, whether the parts are available ?
