ParticipantHey guys and gals..
Ive got a F09 problem with my Indesit washer/dryer, the cheapest option to start off with is replacing the eprom? Am I right? Id rather risk 30quid than buy a new module etc at 150quid first.. would replacing the eprom fix my f09?
Second question, when I get the machine open – where the hell is the eprom located? And is it soldered in there or in a socket?
Cheers for the help people.
Mick

You will almost certainly have a PCB with a soldered eeprom. The service replacement will not fit on your board.
Two different modules, between £70 & £75 ex vat. Also two different eeproms, around £18 to £20 ex vat.
Sounds like you have been looking at Espares. :rolls:

Yup espares it was haha..
So what do you recommend mate? If I fork out the money for the correct module would this cure the problem? If its gonna cost crazy money Id rather just buy a new one and get rid of this piece of rubbish!

Possibly a good call. 😉
The Indesit Company do have a maximum repair charge, not sure how much, just under £100 I think. That may be a cheaper option than scrapping the machine altogether.

The engineer who comes to fix your machine will not be overpaid, far from it.
There are very few wealthy domestic appliance engineers. 😥

lol! I gave em a ring, and they gave me the 2 options of paying 99.99 to come and fix it (but the repair is only guaranteed for 14 days), or 15quid a month for 10 months and its covered for a year and they will come out tomorrow.. I cant really afford the 100quid upfront so went with the costlier but easier to swallow option. Only thing that annoyed me about the call was they didnt ask any details of which LED’s were blinking etc, so when the guy comes out he will prob not have the parts needed to fix it there and then so will prob have to order it and come back another day, am I right?

Hi they were trying to get you on the direct debit, the £99 repair is garanteed for 12 months!!, (the whole machine is covered for 14 days), also modules are always held in abundance so should be fixed on first visit, hth

Thats the third instance in the past two days I have heard of customers seemingly thinking that the ‘repair’ was only guaranteed for 14 days. When I know it refers to the whole machine and the actual repair is, as hotpnt says covered for 12 months.
It appears the office staff are not making this very clear, is this down to poor training or is it being done deliberately. :rolls:

Yeh I thought the 14 day thing was a bit wierd..
But I still think the insurance policy is the best course for me, as ive had probs with it before and at least I know I wont be posting on here for another 12 months 🙂
