Hi all
I’m now getting annoyed with the noise of our Beko DWD5410 W … it’s loud, VERY loud!! If I go outside, front or back I can still hear it with the doors closed. It’s been like this for a few years already now. Other than the noise it works 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} and extremely well.
Right, so how does the wife fit into this all … well, picture the scene from a few years back when the wife called me at the supermarket.
“Don’t worry about getting dishwasher tabs, I found another box with some in the cupboard..” she said.
“Really? I’m sure they were all finished … but ok, I won’t”
I get home, and the load is complete, but the dishes and glasses do not look all that good, like a white haze to them.. within seconds I realise what’s happened. She’d found the box of washing machine lime-scale cleaning tabs and had popped one of them in thinking it was a dishwasher tab. Doh!!
And ever since that fateful day the machine has been running with the sound of a jet engine. Its only when the motor is running that turns the washing rotors with the water pressure that it makes the noise. I’ve confirmed the rotors both spin freely, also I tend to clean the filters every other load as we rinse the dishes by hand before loading so there’s never really a build up of anything.
Not sure if this will work or how long for, but here’s what it sounds like:

So, does anyone know what the problem might be? I’m guess something got messed up in the motor but could there be something else I could look at? Would it be worth putting another one of the washing machine lime-scale tablets in to see if that makes a diff? 😛
Cheers!
