Participantok
got a nightmare machine
went to look at it (wil163uk)
machine filled, no fault code, went to wash, motor struggled, wouldnt even spin
great put on a new motor, put on spin, spun fine
rear panel back on, pushed it back, quick try on wash…. wont wash, motor hums, but wont turn
fit new eprom and board, exactly same
checked all wires to motor, harness is fine
i spent 2 hours on that smeggin machine, and im none the wiser
any one any ideas?

Earth fault on heater? Only other component with worthwhile power consumption.

I guess this is an under warranty job?
The cost of the parts easily out weigh the value of the machine!
You work for Comet don’t you? What is the exact criteria for the machine to be SED’d?

Participantlol… sed?
its an imco policy… tight gits they are
but the pencil pushers deem it repairable as long as cost per job stays low (average over 50 jobs)
id chuck it in the bin, trust me, but theyll throw hundreds at it, u watch!

Before you employ the trebuchet it’s worth checking that the wires to the heater aren’t partially broken off at the terminals inside the insulators where you can’t see them. See my post on the model W133SUK; different symptoms but you never know……. :rolls: .
A trebuchet is a medieval siege engine, a weapon employed either to smash masonry walls or to throw projectiles over them. … 😀
