ParticipantI hope I don’t annoy anyone by posting this question here, as I have also posted in the cooking appliances forum, but since it does apply to both types of appliances and I would really love some feedback, here it is:
I’ve got a free standing, tall Fisher and Paykel wine fridge and will have my Rangemaster Professional+FX delivered next week. Space is awkward and limited until the kitchen is renovated so I was planning to have the two units next to each other.
However, they would be right up against each with a bare cm to spare! I know that both units are insulated, but I would appreciate some opinions on if this setup would negatively impact either appliance.
Please note that the Rangemaster is an English cooker which is why I am not posting in the Australasian forum.
Thanks all,

Hi Susan
Of the three threads on the very same question 😉 I have deleted the one in the OZ forum and the one in the cooking one as well. It`s much easier to keep it to one thread.
As the fridge is purely for wine and not food products it should be okay for them to be side by side. The fridge may run a littler harder if the cavity and burners on that side of the cooker are used for a prolonged running time. You could try a buffer sheet between the two machines if the white wine is not cold enough 😉
HTH 🙂

Hi
The Rangemaster F/F (which is a GE in a cladding) wont be a problem as the refrigerant cooling system is a fan assisted one at the rear which sucks air in and blows.
As for the Fisher Paykel unit i’m not too sure.when you hear the wine cooler switch on…does the sides become hot or warm after about 20 minutes ?.. If they do then NO it’s not sutable to have them so close.you would need approx 15mm gap between the units.less gap will lead to premature failing of the compressor as it will not allow enough air flow around the unit.

The only thing I’d watch for and, have seen is heat bleeding out the cooker and warping the door seal of the fridge next to it.
This can cause issues.

Thanks to everyone for those answers. The wine fridge stays cool on the side, and it has a digital thermostat. If the side begins to get warm or the temperature begins to rise (or the white wine isn’t cold enough 😉 I will move it. And I have a gap of exactly 15 mm so I should be good!
Cheers,
