wirlpool ADG 7470 – Error code 3

This is an integrated dishwasher. It successfully completed its wash cycle but took around 4/5hrs. At the end of the cycle it started beeping – a single beep continuously. When I opened the door this stopped. The flashing LED’s on the display indicate that this is a error code 3 – three cyclic flashes. If I close the door the beeping continues.

I’ve had a look at the advice here which seems to indicate the heater as being the most likely culprit. I haven’t taken the machine out yet – that joy’s yet to come, before I do was wondering if there are any other issues likely to give similar symptoms – increased programmed time / fault code 3 / nothing now works?

Also, is the heater testable with a meter? Looking at the photo on your shop site it looks a lot different from say a washing machine heater – which I l know I can test.

If, as I suspect, it is the heater can you confirm the part number.

Wirlpool ADG 7470 – Error code 3

As an update to this post, I changed the heating element – purchased from the UK W/Goods on-line shop for £58.04 + £11.41 PP, which did the trick.

As a point of interest the new heater – which took no more than an hour to fit including getting the integrated dishwasher unit out and back in again, has considerably shortened the dishwasher time on the usual setting. My guess is that it had been failing for some time.
