Wirlpool Dishwasher Fault

Hi I have a 4year old whirlpool dishwasher ADP5406 (service code 8511 561 15836) If I switch it on and press the start button it pumps out for a few seconds, fills with water and then stops. No sound from circulating pump. After a couple of minutes it pumps out and the start light goes out. The start light does not flash so no error code. If I repeat the process with a different programme setting it does exactly the same. Any suggestions gratefully received.

sounds like the circulating pump motor may be at fault

if you listen very carefully you may hear a faint hum but sometimes you cant hear that
you would need to check if power is getting to the motor when it goes quiet.
if this motor has failed the retail price is over £100 plus vat
