WIS24140GB/07 Flashing Start/Pause light and not starting

I searched the forum and cannot find a similar fault with just the Start/Pause light flashing.

The light above the Start/Pause button starts flashing as soon as the machine is turned on and in a programme but nothing further happens. The door interlock doesn’t engage and no noises heard. It just doesn’t start.

I had a guy come out for a look and he tried unsuccessfully to replace the door interlock. He said it must be a faulty PC board as the additional function lights should light up when the programme is changed as happens when the machine is working properly.

I want to make sure that the flashing light is not just indicating a fault code that could be repaired easily before committing to buying a new machine. Has anyone else seen this fault?

I’m not familiar with the machine but normally symptoms like that will indicate some issue with the mains supply, the door interlock (as that’s the first thing it will power up) or the board/s.

If the door interlock is faulty, would it cause the panel lights to stop responding when changing the wash programme? My question is quite specific as I want to be sure that the non-responding lights isn’t just a general fault indicator. Changing the door interlock is a lot cheaper than buying a new machine.

As I said, I’m not familiar with the machine and Bosch technical isn’t available to me but, I’d expect that not to be the interlock however I couldn’t say for sure.
