ParticipantI have just received a replacement motor for the above machine. This is the 1604822

Because it is replacing the GEC type motor it requires a replacement plug.Last time I fitted one it came with a tech bulletin giving the change in connections for the new plug.
Does anyone have this information?
Thanks,
Keith.

1604976 is the kit you need to order in addition to the motor, it comes with the new plug and pecker pin etc if required.
They used to be in with the motors but now sold seperately 😕

I have the motor which already has the pin with it and I have been supplied a 1601400 motor plug. Unfortunately no wiring chart to replace the new plug.

it is perfectly safe and possible to fit the original plug if it is a Rast type, or the earlier flat plug, determine which two wires go to the tacho so as to make sure you have the plug the right way round, if need be snip of the small lugs to allow the plug to be pushed home. This advice was given by Jimbo 2207 ( I think thats his nickname) and I can confirm that it is correct.
The only time you need the new plug is if you are fitting this motor to a machine with the now very old ‘square’ plug with two banks of three terminals.November 25, 2005 at 1:52 pm #155477Twoten

Thanks iodom, this relates to what I remember when I last fitted one. I recollect the wires were all one position out on the Rasta plug but I couldn’t remember for sure and which way. Checking the Tacho wires for positioning makes sense.
Thanks to bendaireboy for the tech info on that model too.

Interesting thought. This plug must have the wires matted into a sort of mesh. 😆
