Thats the 35mm kit, 30mm kit is 1604600. not easy to tell from serial number, best way is to see if it has a black plastic pulley or a metal one.
Metal= 35mm, plastic =30mm.
Its really a case of suck it and see. The only way to be certain before you strip it down is to get a 1603409 rear drum half and 1604290 drum support. These are both 35mm, the 30mm shaft is not available as a spare AFAIK.
I always change the drum seal and both suspension pegs, they do tend to come adrift if you re-use the old pegs.
If you strip it down first you may find the drum shaft badly damaged or you may be very lucky and be able to get away with just a new rear half or even better, a bearing kit.
It just depends how long it has it has been left.

Forgot to mention, if you do have to change the drum support you will find the bolts that hold it to the drum virtually impossible to shift. I drill them out with a titanium drill, other use an angle grinder. Then you need to find new bolts, I think someone did post a link to a much cheaper alternative to the Hotpoint supplied bolts, cannot remember where though. 😥

If it is a date code 93 i would reckon its a dead cert it is 35mm bearings, as jim says about the susp pegs they can come out if you use the old ones, but if you get a small cable tie and hook it behind the barb works a treat mind you any poor sod trying to get them out after you has a nightmare until they twig.

Thats what I thought when I turned out to do a 1603409 rear half on one this afternoon. Only had a complete drum assy fitted by Hotpoint two years ago with the 30mm bearings in it, but customer didn’t bother to tell me. 😥
A quick dash home for a few bits & bobs and managed to get the 30mm bearings out as clean as a whistle. 8)

I have used the Zanussi spider bolts in Hotpoints. I can usually find a few old ones from scrap machines so I don’t know if they are any cheaper than the Hotpoint ones.
