ModeratorWMA30, around 5 years old, customer rang me last week complaining that rinse aid compartment was always full of water. talked her through cleaning the dispenser drawer and rinse aid cap etc.
Finally had to call out today as she was still not happy. Drawer, all channels and blue rinse aid cap are all clean. If I hold the drawer under the sink tap the rinse aid compartment syphons out perfectly every time but if I put it back in the machine it always has water left in it, sometimes full, sometimes half full. 😕
Machine was leaning to the left a little but levelling it made no difference. This has only just started happening in past couple of months apparently. The inlet valve is not leaking in BTW.I have ordered a new rinse aid compartment cap 1604111, it is listed as Fab Cond Comp New, just wondering if it has had a modification. ❓

The 1604111 rinse aid dispenser is the same but with a bit cutout, to help stop leaks, i would guess you might need a new dispenser, sounds like blocked jets or partialy blocked jets.

A good way to clean those blocked jets , run some hot water off till it’s warm/hot then connect the hot pipe to the cold valve then put it on a rinse prog. Hopefully should flush the gunk out!

Thanks guys, I did suspect something like that but the dispenser does look clean, I would have thought that once the water level in the compartment had reached the top it would start to syphon regardless of the pressure of the water coming in.
New dispenser is not that expensive so I may give that a try.

I have spent far too many hours puzzling over problems with comfort not going or water left. As Jim says, everything appears ok but it stubbonly wont go or leaves the compartment full of water. The one problem I have found is with the syphon cap becoming a looser fit than it should be and floating up on the water hence not starting a syphon. new cap and draw is the usual cure, would recommend the whole dispenser as well just to be sure.
the current trend of taking a double valve (Bosch, ISE to name a couple) fill on rinse with the jet being deflected does not help as it is impossible to poke through the jets from behind as we used too

Hi Folks.
I thought I would resurrect this thread as I had another one of the same problem today (In this case a Hotpoint WD61). I have had a few of these in the past which seem to defy all logic and just not work. Todays case took the fabric conditioner through lovely, but leaves the dispenser full of water.
Customer states that its only started doing it during the last week/10days.Anyone had success with this issue?. Jim, how did you get on with your case?.
Regards,
Mike

Bearing in mind mine was a WMA which will have a different soap drawer to a WD61. The WD61 has two different dispensers, neither of which is the same as the WMA.
I fitted soap drawer assy complete and it worked perfectly. 🙂
Has yours got the old white removable rinse aid compartment or the later blue lift out cover. If the latter make sure you can blow through the U bend in the cap, ( making sure you don’t blow the blob of detergent or whatever into your eye, as if I would do a thing like that 😳 )

Hi Jim.
Thanks for your prompt reply.
This ones the later blue lift out and the syphon tube is completely clear. Also, it takes the fab con but not the water. On one of the previous jobs I fitted a new drawer complete and it made not a scrap of difference so I am reluctant to go down that route again. I have tried fiddling with the water pressure but its still the same. This customer is not unduly worried by it but I would like to know WHY for my own satisfaction.
Regards,
Mike.
