Looking at the latest Connect leaflet I see they are offering pattern WMA spiders with bearings, BRG3604. The seal looks like the old type with the spring poking out. Do you think it’s worth trying these or will they be more trouble than they’re worth?

At £40 for a pair, it isn’t really that cheap to be honest, plus the old seal is likely to give problems.

It’s possibly old stock that Connect want shot of ?

    What about the 2 x 95/WM kits for £20 ?
    Is there a quality issue?
Or perhaps we’re all just too cynical?

I would certainly try the WM ones. The quality of OE spiders does not seem that good as I’ve replaced quite a few on the later WMs which were cracked at only 3 or 4 years old.

Yeah, I noticed that too. The 95 ones didn’t go till they were ten years old or so. Somebody told me or I read that it was due to deterioration in the quality of aluminium due to recycling. Sounds plausible.

    Re: WMA Spider

The last 10 pairs of the wm/95 bearing kits I got from connect brg3603 had no bolt kits with them. 😡
had to buy some s/s bolts and I now have to pray I can reuse the nut plates. some complete kits these are. Also dont come with tub seal.
But apart from that they are good quality and price (when you get the bolt pack) 😡 😡 😡

    Re: WMA Spider

The original bolts are stainless anyway and although the nut plates do rust I’ve never had any that were not still usable. Now if they gave you new screws with the WMA spider, that would be useful…
