Anyone had any trouble with gen Hotpoint wma 35mm spiders lately .The last few i have had, has had the shaft slightly too wide three quarters way down .The new genuine bearings will not push down the shaft by hand.I have fitted the bearings and tried to pull the last bit of the shaft through by tightening the bolt after fitting the pulley. The shaft does pull through but the drum is then too tight

the drum is too tight for what?, when fitted the shaft should turn the inner bearing collar, if it was loose there would be play in the drum, i usually put a bit of lubricating spray on the shaft before it goes through bearings

I normally do about 5 a week .Normally after fitting new bearings the drum and shaft slide through ,because of the shaft being slightly oversize with these last spiders in one area ,the spider will not go through the bearings without force
