Its a bit late and all my manuals are in the car outside, and there is a considerable amount of Peroni & red wine inside 8) . I will have a look at the tech info and if you have had no replies before then I will get back to this thread tomorrow. When these lights flash does the machine actually malfunction, does it stop full of water, not wash or spin, stick in the middle of the cycle etc. An out of balance load such as one single heavy item can cause problems which if my alcohol impaired memory serves me correctly does flash the prewash light.
What was the load you had in when this fault appeared?

Hi, and thanks for the reply!!!The machine does malfunction when the light flashes, it always appears around/before the spin part of the cycle. However iam unsure if it is full of water at this point.
This as happened many times now in the same position and has diffrent loads in each time. Each wash it is filled to a full load and rarley filled with a part/single item load…
Hope you dont have to much of an red wine hangover :bang:

does your machine ever make it into a spin and if so is it noisy?
also does it work if you put it on a spin only cycle?
and is the machine draining quickly enough a blocked pump will cause the machine to empty slowly and can throw up this faultSeptember 3, 2006 at 8:52 am #187331slim

the machine very rarely gets to the spin cycle before the error!!
it does work on the only spin cycle!!
as for the draining quick enough i can not confirm this!!!
right i have just spoken to my wife who says that the machine washes and emptys then the error flashes it does not refill for the rinse..
may be it could be a blocked pump but wouldnt the error show up part way through the draining procedure????

Morning, prewash light flashing indicates a fill or pressure switch problem, likely to be a partial blockage in the combined sump and pressure chamber. Other less likely possibilties are faulty pump, pressure switch or fill valves.
Please remove the mains plug if you intend to investigate further.Jim.

Morning, thanks for getting back to the thread!
Ok so from what you said in laymens terms is that the machine wants to fill but somthing wont let it?? if so i will firstly check for blockages and take it from there!!!thanks….john….

hI, i removed the pipe that goes from the drum to the pump in there there is a filter and little ball.
There was a partial blockage causing the little ball not to do its job correctly…
But when the machine was first tried after removing the blockage it still did the same thing..
So the next wash after that the start button was pushed in and held in to hopfully reset the machine. Since the reset it as washed twice with out a problem!! So hopefully that will be that but ive got no confidence with it just yet that will come with time!!! -
