how can i install the driver belt for hotpoint aquarius extra wma35 washing machine? It was making a noise on spinning and then completely stopped spinning. I opened it and found that the driver belt had come off. I am finding it very difficult to put it back on again. Is there an easier way to do it?

Chances are the “noise” you refer to is collapsed main drum bearings. When the bearings go the drum shaft becomes loose, the drive pulley on which the belt rides starts to wobble and the drive belt therefore easily derails.

Tie the belt to the drum pulley with a ‘bag tie’ first. Then place the other over the motor pulley. Then open the porthole door and turn the inner drum by hand until the belt sits neatly on both pulleys before finally cutting off that.’bag tie’.

My money is on your drum bearings being knackered though….. 🙁

Thats where id put money too Martin. Check to see if the drum is loose first. If so then the bearings are shot. May not just becase of a bearing or drum change. The shaft on the back of the drum maybe damaged.
