This is a WMA64 Ultima with digital display.

Door latch spring perfect, new doorlock fitted but still no go. All wiring, motor, brushes etc are perfect.

This is a fairly common fault on the standard WMA machines and even though there is often no obvious signs of damage on the PCB, a new or replacement PCB is required.

This is the first time I have encountered this on an Ultima WMA with the separate power board.

Unfortunately EMW do not test/repair these boards.

Has anyone else seen this fault on an Ultima WMA?

    Jim.

By “no go” do you mean that the door not locked icon comes up? If that is the case, and no doubt as you know, the interlock connector block can often come adrift on these due to OOB conditions/vibration. Though you add that the wiring is perfect so maybe you’ve checked that possibility out anyway…just a thought nonetheless…HTH? 🙂

Yes, door not locked warning flashed up. Removed front panel to double check all wiring and connections. 😉

I am just about to stick the suspect module into my own WMA63 to see if the same fault occurs. 🙂

    Curiouser and curiouser…. 😕

It worked in my machine, ❓

At least it saves me making an expensive mistake, I will have to return tomorrow with my fine toothed comb. 🙂

I’ve had similar problems before, found that if there is 240v on the door lock connector than usually it’s just a bad contact.

Squeezing the contacts together usually sorts it.

Even after over 40 years you still get something new to ‘ bite yer bum’ 😥

Went back to this machine today, double checked all of the wiring, still seemed OK.

Tried it with the old doorlock, operating it manually through the door seal, tried the new doorlock I fitted yesterday, still the door would not lock.

In desperation I tried another new doorlock and the bloody thing worked. 😯

First time I have ever had a brand new, genuine doorlock faulty from new.

One more for the memory bank. 🙂

    Jim.
