Wont drain water

Ok just to speed up the enquiry (as per instructions), here is my info:

Bought in January 04 (it’s merely a month out of it’s 24 mth warrenty!)

Problem: Wont complete spin cycle. Gets to spin cycle and starts beeping constantly. Had to remove all our clothes by hand and siphon the water out to empty.

Attempted solutions: We have a Golden Retriever, which means there is hair hair everywhere (especially on our clothes). We assumed the pump must be blocked with dog hair. So husband checked the pump – no major blockage. Tried to clean it up a little.

Put washing machine back together and tried again. Water is draining now….all over the floor…

I know looking at it ourselves wasn’t the smartest of ideas but we’re going to struggle to make rent next week let alone afford to pay a tech to come out and look at the machine. Hubby is a computer tech so he thought he likes to have a tinker (figured either way someone was going to have to come out eventually so we didn’t have much to lose!)

Is anyone able to help us out with a suggestion of what went wrong or what we can do to stop the water from leaking out the bottom now??

If it only leaks on pump out, the leak must be above the water line – follow the drain hose up and see where the split is. Be careful, there is a permanent live supply to the pump as long as the machine is plugged in at the wall.
