ParticipantHi.
Hoover HNF 7167
It won’t fill or drain. Spin cycle works, all lights look normal. Door locks. All pipes are fine with no blockages, all taps are on.
I checked the inlet valve with a multimeter. 0 Ohms across both solonoids so we don’t have an open circuit.
Filled the drum (by bucket) with water to check the “no drain” issue isn’t just because there is no water. It isn’t… wont drain.
So….
I supesct a relay on the pcb may have gone… but at £90 I’d rather be a bit more certain and having read your advice on their relative reliability I’m definately up for a second opinion.!!
Nothing on the board is visibly burnt out. beyond that I am not sure how to test it.
All advice greatfully recieved.

Check the drain pump for resistance/continuity, some machines will not fill if the drain pump is faulty.
These Candy machines are prone to leaks from the detergent inlet hose dropping down onto the drain pump which shorts out and 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time takes out the pcb. 🙁

Have a look at this web site, that does testing and repair and exchange, of pcb and modules of washing machines. Excellent service.– http://www.emwelec.co.uk— tele No 01159652118

Will do.When i looked the other day I couldn’t see any visible issues. Will check again.

222 ohms across the pump. no sign of a leak… but the connectiosn are filthy !!.. will clean them up and see if we get any action…

The leak is not a big one but I would be examining that connector plug very closely. They often burn across the contacts and if that has happened then it will certainly have taken out the pcb.

well there we go…Must be the PCB. The connector was toast !
you think the pump is still ok?

Excellent heads up there. Many thanks !June 8, 2015 at 8:51 pm #427944iadom

Depends how much water has got onto the pump. If you don’t re seal the inlet hose where it slots into the front of the drum then the fault will happen again. Peel back the door seal and you will see the offending hose directly above the pump. A classic piece of Italian a design. :rolls:

hahahah….
Alpha Romeo springs to mind… Worked on a an Alpha Sud once for a friend… looked nice… seems that’s about it though as far as the design input went.
I will replace the PCB, seal the pipe, and hope the pump motor is ok.
Many thanks for your help so far.
Keep you posted.
Thanks for the input.June 9, 2015 at 7:45 am #427946Highseas

That’s a thought.
Is the 222 ohms across the pump normal?…
It just occured that if it’s not then plugging it into a new PCB might instantly fry the new one.

All done.
Used EMW for the rebuild to the PCB. Obvious Traic blown on that. Big hole in it!
Didn’t find any leaks from the soap fill hoses… but… when I first switched on it spewed water out of the draw… turns out there was a blockage of solid soap suds in the tube…
all clear now… first load is on…
I don’t have to go to work dressed like a tramp on Monday !
Thanks guys / gals
