i have a 1.9 102ps transporter i avg 32-35mpg. the latest model, 2.0l has more torgue in lower gears and quieter and is more economical. the 2.4’s are better on town work as you can do 30 in 5th gear but suck the fuel on motorways etc. they are proper vans not car derived so you wont get the same mpg’s from them. personally i wouldnt have ne thing else for reliability, low deprecation, versatility, and enough paneling to advertise ones self on 🙂

Peugot Expert, loaded to the gunnels, has 11000.00 on clock but runs very nicely, decent on fuel but dont the mileage now.
With 11 months to 65 it will be my last van so will keep it as long as possible as I will be carrying on after retirement date although even choosier than now 😉November 16, 2011 at 10:30 am #363528adv

Look at ex British gas vans we have had three now normally well looked after and loads of cab storage etc they also benefit from rear parking sensors ,a/c ,and lots of extra security . Present van is a citroen berlingo 2.0 hdi economical and quick with 120,000 miles on the clock it never misses a beat 😀

Just my new van 🙂 or should I say nearly new 60 Plate.
Mint condition Citroen Berlingo Enterprise 90 – had it 3 days now. Was going to buy new but this one came up at last minute locally with loads of extras and of course as it’s nearly new, extras don’t really make much difference when it comes to re-sale price so very happy with the price – pretty nippy compared to some vans I’ve driven.
Absolutely loads of little cubby holes/storage areas – quite well thought out and of course it’s not pink and it has a side door.
Just wondering how to fit it out or just leave every thing in the old courier boxes??
As it’s got 3 seats and the eldest it about to go to Uni, I suggested to SWMBO that we make it the family car… not happy
My son loves it and we can now get the trials bikes I promised him and for me of course 😀 😀 😀

I’m only a novice yet taught of buying a van but my car is a vw Sharan diesel its brilliant ,45/50 miles to the gallon low mantainance and with seats removed loads of space for anything up to 5 machines and still handy for the weekends when dropping off or picking up the kids don’t know how I’ll manage when I’ll have to change I
Surpose I’ll be looking for advice here, cheers Crockett.
