do these have some sort of automatic program reset if turned off for more than an hour or so? because its baffling. it will complete a program (any program) approximately 1 in 3 or 4 uses. when it doesnt complete it will stop right at the end of the rinse and not drain and just beeps however if the customer turns it off and turns it back on in the morning and puts it on again it will drain and start over…

SO FAR THO IT HASNT DONE IT IN MY PRESENCE 👿

even pulled it out from the cabinet and run it on the prewash and it was ok, did find the waste had been crunched but straightened it out and still refused to complete after we left it even tho the completion frequency has improved to a 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} yay or nay rate. this is whilst it isnt in situ, and half out of the cabinet (so no pinched drain)!

is also running into a standpipe so not the usual gunk-in-a-spike issue.

any ideas where to first look ? its about 4 years old i think, and control panel is suspicously smeg-like in its layout and prog diagrams

ok this problem child is still causing issues. no idea where to start as everything is visually a-ok…

    model – adg450/3
    11805427460199

6th test in the workshop, various programmes – heres the latest on:
    fast wash-58 min prog…

works fine till 46th minute (on my phones stopwatch)
then a repetitive beep, beep, pause, beep, acompanying a whoosh from the cirm pump. then nothing and it repeats over again.

if you open door after 3rd beep, it will beep 10x times (identical spacing)

whilst door open 45 degree light flashes, rinseaid refill and salt refill are perm on.

if doors shut when 3 beeps beeps, 45 degree light flashing, rinseaid refill and salt refil are lit contantly.

    cancel/reset of 65 degree plates and 65
degree intensive will make d/w drain fine.

It’s a SMEG-built machine. Check mains suppressor isn’t cracked open, sub an inlet valve onto the dispenser wires and if that doesn’t do it, change the start/run capacitor.

If it still won’t behave it’s pcb time. Eastlmark might be able to advise on a SMEG part number, as buying a replacement from Whirlpool is horrifically expensive.

cheers mr chris, after the last teka episode kinda recognised its a la smeg pcb, so anyhoos have visually checked the usual capacitor & slow salt disp leakage.

will do soap disp test but not convinced cos in the past that kind of failure has shown almost instantly, and not just waited for the dry cycle, after its been activated…

so basically gut instinct for pcb is pretty much confirmed then. the only nagging doubt is why the lack of rinse/drying is so hotchpotch – approx 1 in 5 times. if it was everytime id feel more confident to say to customer its the board. argh. why are so many things so ambiguous!

still awaiting eastleigh marks part no. i cant see anything else untoward and a replacement s/l is £450+ so customer will 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} be after a replacement… as long as pcb is around £100 mark!

    right ok.

oddly enough i missed the gunked up sticker with the ADG450/3 “851115115911” code on it

found the spare prices on connect, but ridiculous as its a smeg.

can anyone provide me with the smeg model no this unit was based on ? (if there was one)

    Re: wp adg450-3 wont finish

reviving this as ive been to one today which works perfectly until last rinse and begins pulsing with a burst of spray pump. i immeadiately suspected the module thinking that some component was breaking down after being on a while. i cancelled the cycle and put it straight back on and it started working ok again. couldn’t wait around so asked customer to watch it. again it began pulsing on final rinse.
is this definately the module? or have you found some other reason and gandhi what happened to resolve the one you had.( if you can remember)
