Participanthi guys,
any experts on the WPL ice machines out there?there appears to be a refrigerant leak some where,we have to keep topping the refrigerant level up regulary, no exposed pipework seems to be leaking on the high pressure side, pipes to and from commpressor seem ok,are there any common places for leaks to appear. does the evaporator ever produce leaks?
i’ve seen a few accumulators leak over the years on this model but this seems fine.
any ideas?

Underneath the freezing plate in the middle. Had 2-3 in the last couple of years, not exactly common but worth a look.

thanks mate,
did you repair them or did you replace the evaporator plate complete?

We just replaced them, far easier, they normally start leaking in the most awkward of places so far easier just to replace. More expensive repair but you save a lot of time and you then know for sure that’s it’s done properly.

ACME refrigeration 01254 277955, can’t think of the part number right now, but when I’m back in on Monday I’ll look at the diagrams for you. They should be able to work it out for you just by the description.

I’d better add, but I’m sure you’re fully aware of this, that you’d better be sure it is the evaporator assembly before changing it as it’s quite an expensive repair.
