The WTA was formed at the UKW September Meeting of 2007 and a Commitee elected by those members present, with a mandate to serve a term of two years. Those two years are now coming to a close and the Membership is invited to vote upon a Commitee to serve for the next two years.

The current standing Commitee consists of:

    Lawrence Carey (Lawrence)
    Bryan Williams (R600A)
    Jim Banks (IADOM)
    Adrian Whelke (Washdoctor)
    Sean Delaney (Del)
    Chris Chantrell (Penguin45)
    Steve White (Aqualectric)

Co-opted members of the Commitee are currently:
    Ken Watt (kwatt)
    Ian Dales (Dales-electric)

Jim Banks and Sean Delaney wish to step down from the Commitee. I hope that the Membership will join with the Commitee in thanking them for their work over the last two years.

    The Commitee requests that:

    Lawrence Carey
    Bryan Williams
    Adrian Whelke
    Chris Chantrell
    Steve White

be re-elected to serve a further two years.

We further propose that Ian Dales be formally elected to serve on the WTA Commitee.

Invitations are extended for a nominee to fill the remaining place on the Commitee. Applicants should be aware that this is not a cushy number! We pay our own way at meetings, which, including the UKW/WTA conferences, number four per year at present.

As Secretary to the Commitee, I would ask that any formal request to stand for election be made directly to myself – chris.chantrell@ntlworld.com – by no later than 16.8.2009.

This is the proposal of the WTA Commitee. We invite a free debate from the Membership in this thread and any alternative proposals will be fully discussed.

    Chris Chantrell,
    Secretary to the Commitee,

Re: WTA Commitee – Elections for 2009/11

Further to the above statement, I am advised that Ian Dales will not be in a position to join the WTA Commitee.

We therefore invite nominations for two new Commmitee members.

    Apologies for any confusion caused,

    Chris Chantrell,
    Secretary to the Commitee,

Perhaps the bulk of this thread should be added HERE as well. 😉

Re: WTA Commitee – Elections for 2009/11

An update to the post above.

In addition to the standing commitee to be re-elected:

    Lawrence Carey (Lawrence)
    Bryan Williams (R600A)
    Adrian Whelke (Washdoctor)
    Chris Chantrell (Penguin45)
    Steve White (Aqualectric) ;

    We have a nomination from:

    Barry Munro (Bazza500)

    to join the commitee.

Members are reminded that technically the closing date has passed; however, we are still one member short and this position needs to be filled in order for the commitee to function efficiently and with a fair division of labour.

We would ask all WTA members to stop and consider whether or not they can contribute to the development of the Association and as a consequence, our Trade.

It’s still early days and progress can seem frustratingly slow, but it is essential that we take control and are seen to actively take control, of our future.

Please respond in the first instance to myself:

Re: WTA Commitee – Elections for 2009/11

We now have two nominees to fill the vacancies arising on the WTA Comitee:

    Bazza500 (Barrie Munro)
    Steven (Steven Withers)

Given that the original final date for nominations to the Commitee was 16.8.9., I now declare that nominations are closed.

The WTA Commitee hereby asks the Membership to elect its Commitee for the next two years as follows:

    Lawrence Carey
    Chris Chantrell
    Barry Munro
    Adrian Whelke
    Steve White
    Bryan Williams
    Steven Withers

A formal ballot will be held at the UKW/WTA meeting at the end of September.

Please raise any points or issues in by posting in this thread.

    Chris Chantrell,
    Secretary to the Commitee,
    Whitegoods Trade Association
