Can I ask what are the benefits of joining the wta and how much is it

Benefits vary but include
Extra discount from spares suppliers
Special rates from wholesalers for finished goods
Listing on WTA members list for any manufacturers that require service coverage. (this is made available to those that ask)
We are currently working on other deals with relevant suppliers to the industry
WTA photo ID card (just supply mug shot)

You should come to the meeting in March Andy, it’s always an interesting one well worth the time anyway but, you can talk to the guys there are learn more about what the WTA does.
Normally at the larger meets Lawrence does his update at the start on what the TA’s been up to and where it’s at.

Yes, you did. The most important one to many. 😉
You’re name is on the list of companies that will provide their services to commercial clients that the WTA gives out.
And, that a number of companies “prefer” to use WTA members due to the COP.

hello. im interested in this but one question. do they pay chargeable rates and we can make money on pars or do they so the same as other firms and dictate the fees and no money on parts?so kind like advertising to everyone that you do work for discounts like you said in another form?
and apart from a few discounts herre n there which anyone can get if they pick up the phone and hotel bills,what else do i get for probably my 70 + 240 in hotels which it seems i have to pay and go to or i miss out?
do you provide training and certificates ect like other trade people? i would send my engineers on appliance training if you do it?.but not really interested if its just a discount club?.Re: March 2014 Conference

What clients pay is up to them and the repairer, not the WTA or anyone else. The WTA is not involved in any rate negotiations at all, it can’t be.
You chose to do it, you chose not to, that’s entirely up to the repairer.
I think I know what you’re getting at regarding my comment about some referral service if I recall (I can’t remember what one as there’s that many doing the same thing) but this is a completely different thing IMO as it is a commercial contract not an ad hoc type affair.
You may think differently and that’s your prerogative of course, but it is not my take that they are even slightly similar.

looking at it another way
£70 over a year is less than a large big mac a week ,if you get just 2 jobs over the year you have covered your membership fee and your waist line is smaller 😀with regards to hotel fees ,don’t stop over come for the day,if you don’t like the Hilton prices there is a premier inn just down the road ,we have even had people order pizza as well ,which depending on which dominoes deal you get can be a good money saver..

If you want appliance training for your guys ,the only training usually is through manufacturers that you do work for (if they provide any)
or more generic courses would be Graham Dixon I reckonHTH

thanks i would be interested in training as thats good and needed but i cant see where 70 would be worth it if i only get discounts in places you agree with.
could i ask if people get benefits from this apar from discounts as interested but wary as bad experiences paying money for things with no real benefit.

No clue.
Depends on the client’s requirements so it could differ with every contract.
Like I said, you get the offer and you either go for it or you don’t depending on whether it suits you or not. After the deal is on the table, it’s nothing to do with anyone but the repairer and the client as it’s up to them what deal is reached.
The only part the WTA is involved in, other than in an advisory capacity, is putting its members forward to potential clients so that those members get the chance at the work. That’s it.

hello k so its not a commercial contract,it is just ad hoc also as there is not any tendered contract?so they could play off workers and move workers as no tender was awarded?and then i guess it will be a lower pay than a normal customer so it is doing work at less pay with no security?
so let me get this right.for 70 pound we get discounts club stuff and we get work with no actual tendered contract which gives no stability?and you dont do any training or certificates ect?Re: March 2014 Conference
You do not have to be a member to come along to the meetings.
Come to the Martch 2014 meeting then you will be able to make your own mind up if it is worth becoming a member.
When you see the work Ken, Lawrence , Steven, Brian, etc put in and all in there own time.
You will also have the chance to meet many contacts as well, this can lead to more work and on your own terms.
I am sure the benefits will become clear and you will gain more than the £70 subs and have a good time as well.
