Was nice to see ya’ll again, some good laughs were had (mostly at my expence AGAIN) as well as a lot of ‘Business’ sorted 🙂 So was much worth the effort to attend everyone 🙂

To top it off, Josie wanted my number as I were leaving 😀

Re: WTA Council Meeting May 2010

And while I’m reflecting back to last night and feeling the love… Can I just say thanks to everyone for the input and conversations / scenarios etc that were put against the COP. It was a quick passing 5hrs, and towards the end, we were all getting a bit anxcious to get to the end, but we did what I wanted to do, and was needed to be done! The CCAS GAP Analysis! So for that, I say Thanks! 🙂

Honestly, last night has proven that our COP, regardless of ‘Minor ajustments’ is without doubt, OFT worthy!

Result is: Because of everyones contributions last night, I’m a very confident washdoctor when I call Kate (OFT) on Monday!

When I’ve clarified with Kate the 3 ‘Queries’, I’ll type up the reply to the GAP Analysis and post it for you guys to approve before I email it to Kate.

    Ade 🙂

    Good job, good evening.

And, some people don’t actually believe that we WERE working till near enough 2am apparently!!

    We bl00dy well were!

I do think however that a lot of this should be conveyed into the members forum. The juicy bits at the very least of what’s actually been done.

    Perhaps leave out Ade pulling… whatever… whoever….

I am gonna publish this on here as well but, it may well be of use on the WTA site as well… How Long Should Appliances Last

That’s the one we will often get email enquiries or calls about as explained the other night and, it’s a PITA having to explain it all the time. 😉

    And another…

    What Is Covered By Warranty

Please pay attention to the last section.

If it’s okay, I’d write that into every single section that we do on this front and basically say… if it’s outside these terms we’ll look at it but, only if it’s a TA member. If it’s not for a TA member we can’t help.

A big advantage IMO for dealing with customers.

The message we’re sending is that, if you use a WTA member you have some comeback and support, don’t use a TA member and you’ve none.

For the trade, it’s a message of having support and some actual substance to the TA… it actually is a TA that does something!

Re: WTA Council Meeting May 2010

I like it, I would change:

Please do not telephone us but rather email a copy of the engineer’s report as without that we will not be able to offer any opinion on the dispute. It may also be the case that the information will have to be
presented to our Advisory Council and this service cannot be provided by phone, it can only be done when enquiries are made in writing.

    For:

If you have an enquiry regarding a repair you require warranty advice on, please email your quiery and a copy of the engineers job sheet to ************** Or post it to *************. Unfortunately, we cannot deal with these types of enquiries by telephone. For any Advisory Council review, these quiries must be in writing.

    I’d also change:

Please note that this service is only offered for WTA Registered repairers and we cannot and will not
comment on repairers that are not WTA Registered.

    To:

Unfortunately, we can only offer advice and assistance if your repairer is a WTA member due to the Code of Practice they have signed up to. If your repairer is not a WTA member, unfortunately, we are unable to assist as they are not signed up to our Code of Practice, therefore, we could only simply refer you to the Manufacturer for advice.

To view the WTA Code of Practice, please click here: *********************

^ Plug it wherever me thinks? 🙂

    Just a suggestion 🙂

Nope, all suggestions welcomed, I was only knocking it about and it struck me that telling people (public AND trade) that there were exclusive services available to TA members and member customers was a good idea.

It’s very simple but, I think, could be very effective as it’s quite a powerful message.
