ParticipantJust so folks are aware, the WTA members list is currently undergoing a cull.
If you still haven’t renewed and are intending to do so ,please renew ASAP.
If you are not intending to renew thank you for your past support. In light of the new work that is coming WTA members way the list needs to be as up to date as possible.

Perhaps someone could advise how to join the WTA? I applied in March, followed by 3 seperate enquiries to 3 different people, and have had no response to anything yet… perhaps I have been unfortunate

Hi Eddie,
I only see one enquiry that I presume was responded to but no return on it. I cannot see all emails there so I can’t tell you for sure. But I’ll ask it gets looked into for you.

Sent out just before your annual Public Liability Insurance runs out I think? Can’t be a member lest you have it and all that…

No Martin, incorrect but then, you’re not a member so likely wouldn’t know.
All the renewals are sent out in August/September or thereabouts. Reminders are then sent a few weeks later. Another a few weeks after that. Then a final reminder.
Additionally I think there’s been announcements or mention made of it in the WTA forum. Obviously you cannot see that Martin.
The only reason for anyone not to get one or all is, sent to spam folders or, contact details not having been updated where members have changed email etc.
Then atop all that, there’s an active “chaser/exit” email sent after all of that.
Then, as WP’s et all are updated with the revised members lists any benefits become no longer available to lapsed members. At this point, access to the WTA forum is also ordinarily removed.
It would be grossly unfair to surmise that all possible was not done or that little effort was made. It would also be hard to imagine that anyone using a valid email address did not know that their membership was lapsed or lapsing.

Folks, just so you know and I hope that people see this or relay it as required…
Some of the old links to the WTA website will be broken.
This is sadly unavoidable as we updated the website substantially and some of the old components were no longer supported or, dramatically altered. Sorry, not much we could do about it as the TA site had to be brought more up to date.
I’ve corrected the links I could find but there will be some that will be broken still kicking about.
The member search is currently offline.
There is a plan going forward with that which will make it a *LOT* better and easier to manage but, for the time being it’s sadly not available. Once it comes back online though, it’ll be great and work just like the UKW one we hope so, you’ll get targeted work from it directly via email. Or, maybe better still but, that’s for another post, another day.
In the meantime please forgive the downtime and bear with it.
This is also a large part of the reason for moving the meeting registration as, I at least knew this was going to happen some time ago and while we did what we could to protect as much as possible we had to accept that some things we just couldn’t fix or bodge up to work.
On the upside, the new site is prettier, easier to navigate and more secure so, all round a win even if it has put everyone out a little bit.
If you’re interested at all in the WTA, just bored, want a good read or whatever here’s a good article on why you should be a member, then click on the “read more” in the “Membership of the WTA” box, it’s a good article on why we need a TA.
Or, use this direct link: http://www.whitegoodstradeassociation.o … hy-to-join
There’s not a huge amount of new content there but, there is some and some refreshes.
If anyone finds anything broken I’d be most grateful if you could let me know so I can fix it.
Thanks
K.
