ParticipantLarge Bosch dryer wtb76556gb/05 running for 10 minutes with heat but error which say clean filter comes up! Washed filter, checked exhaust hose, removed back cover and cleaned… Any ideas would suspect TOC in exhaust but would it not give another error code?

Hi
Looking on Connect Dist. site, there’s a thermal limiter for this – presumably a thermistor. Wonder if that’s in need of replacement. Whilst on the subject, I’ve never come across anyone suggesting carrying a selection of resistors of known values to simulate the resistance of thermistors at various temps. Seem like a good idea?

Why bother simulating the resistance of a thermistor when checking its ambient resistance will establish whether it is faulty or not?

As long as your privaladged to have the technical info to know what the ambient resistance should be! Or am I missing something are they all the same?

A marginally better idea than advising members of the public to carry out live testing. :rolls:

A vital prerequisite of course. 😀

No they vary somewhat from appliance to appliance.

I don’t suppose you know what this one should be? Mind I have ordered a new one so hopefully it will be miles away from the new one 🙂

iadom,
Thank you. I am humbled for my seemingly half baked idea, and doubly rebuked for my thoughtlessly dangerous suggestion.

Approx 10K at ambient. 😀

I am going back tomorrow will check.. There are two on this one in exhaust and one attached to the element with a safety cut out. Thanks for your help!

IIRC that should be about 25K at ambient. 😉

Thanks Martin I think I have both 10k & 25k resistors in the van lol
