ParticipantHi
My Zanussi ZDF 221 has stopped filling with water. The user manual tells me that the combination of flashing error lights means that the machine is not filling. I have changed one of the pressure switches and for a couple of weeks the machine behaved properly but I am now back to no filling. The switches are behind the right hand side panel and the one I changed was the one to the front of the machine. I have taken the hose off this again and blown down it and there appears to be no blockage. The inside of that hose appears dry. I have not touched the pressure switch nearer the back of the machine as I was told by my local repair shop that this was not relevant to the problem. I was also advised it could be the controler panel but I am not sure as if this is the case because why would it all work for a while and then pack up again? Are there any other places where a blockage could occur and which would prevent the machine filling?
I’d be grateful for any pointers you can give.
Thanks in advance

Hi
Just an update.
I have removed the left hand case panel and exposed the inlet management system. I have checked the pressure from the cold feed. This comes directly from the main and the pressure going into the inlet valve is very good. I have disconnected the hose to the inlet system to see what kind of pressure is there and it can only be described as a trickle. The filter in the inlet valve is clean and clear. I can see water travelling through the clear plastic inlet system but nowhere near enough to fill the machine in the time allowed. In fact, when I open the door immediately after the fill has completed, the machine has taken on some water but I would guess just under half te amount it should. If I top up with water from a kettle, the cylcle continues to its wash programme. If I don’t top it up, the machine drains and then I get the error lights for water not being taken in.
Does this point to the inlet valve being the problem rather than pressure switches or controller?
Any help appreciated.
Thank you

I’m not familiar with the machine but it sounds like the IWMS system that has an issue.
If the valve was faulty it wouldn’t fill at all I don’t think.
If the pressure switch was faulty you would likely get an error up straight away, same with the electronic controller.
