Yellow (ish) marks on white cotton bedding after washing

Hi all,

We have a Siemens Washing machine (couple of years old) and noticed that when washing white cotton items (bedding, shirts, linen trousers) small yellow mark appear on the items.

We use Bold Powder (2in1 version) and really started to notice it following the purchase on new bedding.

Any ideas ?

This section should help you track down the problem.

I would expect though, that it’s something to do with the fabric or a personal care product, like deodorant or suchlike that’s leaving a residue not seen until the item is washed by the sounds of it.

Thanks for the reply.

Just confused as to why it only happens on white cotton garments. I don’t think it’s the powder but might try an new, unwashed, garment (if I can find one) and wash it without any powder.

As the machine is under warranty, a call was placed for an engineer who was as confused as us. He has taken a sample away to refer to tech support.

Will the stains/marks disappear if exposed to direct sunlight?
